6mm AWI Baccus figures (and maore ashigaru) arrive

Oh yes!  Another bundle of joy arrived on the doorstep yesterday.  The AWI troops from Baccus (British, Germans...and those pesky rebels who for some reason don't wish to be ruled by the benevolent and caring British government).

I won't be painting these for a bit as there is so much more going on but it gives me something to look forward to in those long winter nights...)

I also got some more ashigaru to represent my peasants for the PoW army list.  These will be (like the Gauls) painted in lots of different colours to represent the fact that they have been dragged from the paddy fields to fight for their lord and master (and so dressed in whatever scraps of armour they could scrape together).

I've also been talking to Scale Creep in America.  http://www.scalecreep.com

He's selling Baccus samurai at half price.  I've whipped out the calculator and worked out that if the postage is low enough I can get myself a bargain.  I'll aim to paint up a couple more armies for a campaign I'm thinking about.  This may mean painting and selling off the Irregular samurai armies though..

I've got to say that I've never enjoyed painting an army so much as the Baccus samurai one.  The colours, flags, weaponry and quality of sculpts make them great fun to paint and the finished product looks brilliant.  Russ said that the ones I've done to date where the best figures I've painted - but I've learned a lot from doing those and the latest batch are (I think) much better.
