Flat hills - and a cunning plan

We need some usable hills for our wargaming, but using typical rounded hills (with a slope) is decidedly unsatisfactory.  Units slide down the hill, are difficult to keep in place etc. so we've looked at the flat hill option, as covered by Matakishi's Tea House (http://www.matakishi.com/hills.htm) using cork tiles.

But I don't want to spring for a large supply of tiles then find they don't meet the requirements.

Cork tiles can be expensive.  But I found an offer by The Cork Flooring Co. for a sample pack of ten 10 x 10cm tiles for just £1.99 a pack.  So by ordering a couple of packs that provides 20 tiles to test and trial before comitting to buying a full price pack.

Once they've arrived I'll post on the findings.
