Kev drove us down to the club last night - just so I could get whupped within an hour by Ian in the Leningrad campaign (a very short bat rep to follow).
Kevin is planning a Norse in America campaign using 28mm figures - i.e. fighting native Americans etc. and was talking about needing to paint up some Viking warriors.
He then told me that he'd seen a 28mm Saga viking that went for £41 on Ebay.
£41! For one figure!
Now I wasn't aware that Roman Abromovich or the Sultan of Brunei were wargamers. How else can you explain doling out 41 notes on one figure.
Was it painted using real gold? Diamond for the shield boss? Or are some people just insane?
£41 would buy you 100 Heroics & Ros tanks. Or two entire WW2 1:3000 fleets. (Just add your own wargames item that £41 could buy you). Is painting a 28mm figure so hard that you'll shell out that kind of money?
Madness!
