A great tip from John. To give your flags a realistic look (as above) then simply place a sheet of tinfoil between the folded flag image (leaving enough room around it to glue in place). Then simply bend / fold as required.
Simples!
Apparently this works even for 6mm so I'm going to give it a try with my Prussians.
