I've posted how I made these before - the only additional point is that the matchsticks I use as the wall 'logs' are exactly 5cm long (so I don't even need to cut them to size!).

Tarawa sea walls - the first 70cm!
I've completed the first 7 Tarawa sea walls ( just another 14 to go!). The idea is to produce over 2m in length of these.
